Gloss paint to Flat paint!
I am sharing this info with this community in hopes of maybe helping some one out. It may have already been posted here or maybe somewhere else I dont know but I thought this might be helpfull in a bind.
I was recently talking to a local modeller about paint finishes and I was asking him about flat paints. I was looking for specific colors of paint with a flat finish but i couldnt find the colors I needed because they were all glossy. He told me to try the baby powder trick. This trick will help you out when you must have a flat finish but all you have in the specific shade is gloss. What you do is simply add baby powder to the gloss paint. Start by adding a very small amount of baby powder to the paint. If you put too much baby powder it will cause your paint to thicken. If your paint thickens, all you need to do is add more paint and thin it out. I tried spraying through my airbrush and it worked very well. I have also used this paint with a brush and works great too. So far I have not tried too many different paint brands but I know that I works with modelmasters, tamiya, and HOK paints. I suggest if you are going to try this you should definately experiment with it first before trying it on your masterpiece.
I hope this helps someone out.

Good to know, but when I need to flatten a gloss I just hit it with either a matte or dullcote spray, works for me....
