If they are visible, make sure to sand them down to make room for the paint.
    Roger that!

ok this is a question that's stuck somewhere between figure preparation, disassembly and painting, i'm not sure if this deserves its own thread, but here goes:

What is the best way to paint an altmode? I'm wondering if you guys have a preffered way of doing it, I mean like priming the altmode while the figure is whole, checking and correcting any imperfections and painting as it is

    OR

Dismantling it completely after the first coat of primer, then prepping and painting it in sections.

I'm focusing on alt mode here.

    Thanks guys.

I disassemble as much as possible before I even prime anything. Then once that coat is dry, I will test fit parts that may rub.

Well, here's what I do. Once I have it apart and primed, I prefer to usually do my drybrushing first, since it can mess up the surrounding areas. Then tape those off, and spray the alt mode parts. Once I have them done, I'll reassemble, do my detail work, then break it back down and hit it with clear.

So I had this thought: If the clear coat is applied after reassembly and since the clear coat is the last coat, I was wondering if I would get orange peel or worse have the parts all stuck together? I mean since the surface of the alt-mode or even the robot parts are movable and when you spray clear on, won't it get between the different panels and harden like a film and get it all stuck? sorry if I'm asking a dumb question...
