Greetings everyone,

I am a customizer from France. I've been collecting and customizing GI Joes (the vintage line) for a few years now, but recently dabbled into the Star Wars universe. Basically, I fell for the TVC line back in August last year, and collected about 250+ figures since.

A few months ago, I was amazed by the work of Sith_Fire. I never thought I could sculpt anything myself, and his talents and customs were awe-inspiring to me. So I decided to take the plunge... and gave it a try.

Here's my first ever SW custom, and my first ever all-sculpted one. I am a huge fan of the Legacy series, and think this particular Sith Lord doesn't get enough love.

So here's my Darth Wyyrlok, counselor for Darth Krayt.

I'll first post a few pics of the finished custom. And will add WIP shots in a second post.

I hope you like him!

Here are a few WIP shots of the work I did...

The base for this custom is a GI Joe ROC MARS Trooper. I sanded it down to get rid of all details and previous sculpt.

I used styrene to build the chest armor plates.

I sculped everything else with Tamiya's epoxy putty.

The head comes from the ROTS Mas Amedda:

I sculpted the lightsaber hilt over a Vader saber.

I also used neodymium magnets for the shoulder armor, so that I would be able to place them over the cape and retain maximum articulation. So I drilled holes into the armor parts and the shoulders, and placed the magnets inside.

Then I sculpted over it to cover the magnets.

All I had to do was paint over it, and voilą!

All in all, this project took me 3 months to complete. I found out there's a lot of going back and forth, and many adjustments were required. I learned a great deal for my future customs. Mostly, how important it is to make sure everything fits together before you make any serious modification or painting! I had a few setbacks which made me go back and waste a lot of time... it's all a long learning curve.

OutSTANDING job! One of my favorite Dark Lords of all time! I kept meaning to do my own of him for my collection and ended up putting him on the back burner for other things... This is an inpiration to get that going... I like the magnet idea for the shoulder armor.... That was an awesome idea and GREAT job executing it...

super job, I am really liking the fact that you stripped it down, and did the sculpting yourself. Welcome

Thanks everyone for the comments! I'm glad you like him as much as I do. This was indeed a very ambitious project for me. I had done very little sculpting before, so this was a first. It took me forever to complete this project, so patience was also a key element in seeing it through. But I'm very please with the end result, and can't wait to start my next project: super-articulated Aayla Secura! Yes, I know Hasbro is planning to release an improved TVC Aayla this year, but I still don't like the overall look of it...

Thanks buddy! Thanks for your encouragements and your help throughout this project! I learned a great deal!
