So I've been using this FF2 Silver Surver Icons figure I had to practice chrome. I put down a super glossy black first, then sprayed the chrome, and it looks great. My question is, I've read that you can polish parts you want highlighted. What would I use to do that? Won't it rub through the paint? Thanks in advance for any help.

Umm, I am pretty sure it would rub off. I know alsa mirra chrome you can polish with a really soft rag...I am sure you could use one of those micro-fiber towels on te aclad and not hurt it.

Yeah, the micro-fiber cloth on alclad works-its not much of a difference though. They had pics of it on a site. If I find it I'll post it.

I did wonder if you could use the dremel polishing compound, and the fluff wheel on alclad. I'll have to try it.

I disagree.... if you apply it correctly a dusting will be left on the object (you can actually see the "dust" sitting on the surface). Once dry, 2-3 min, you can polish this dust off and it will increase the chrome effect greatly. I use a cloth made for polishing silver.

yeah, it's when you get that "dust" you know you got a great coat of chrome. I usually use a large very soft brush to "polish" this stuff. I use a special blend of testor's gloss coat and alclad's clear coat and keep the gloss.
