Alright, since seeing some of the inspiring work put out by some of the people over here, I have decided it was time to take a step back from the "retail appearance" joe customs I have been working though a large commission of, and take some time to put together a Transformers custom.

Now I know this one has been done, but growing up Ultra Magnus was one of my favorite toys. So when seeing the newer WFC Prime mold, I couldnt help but want to see it in my own style of UM. I am pulling out all the stops on this one, as I intend to sell it at auction when it is done, as I like doing things like this for collectors who cant, more so than collecting work of my own...How many Vang Gogh's do you think Van Gogh displayed in his own home? Not comparing myself to him by any means, just an artist perspective...

Having said that, this thing is in about 50 pieces right now with ALL of the pics I could manage to pull (just not the ones blocked by something else, like the upper shoulder join) and taken out every screw. This thing is APART...lol.

Posted these on facebook as well as my running blog of WIPS I started just a bit ago over at eoascustoms.weebly.net, but wanted to get some "so far" feedback from you guys as well over here.

Thanks

I've repainted this mold twice, I know how you feel. The first time I wasn't thinking and painted that piece that allows you to slide his backpack/roof in and out. Big mistake. If you've already painted it, sand it down! Made it so hard to transform.

I like it too, kudos for doing this. White's a b!tch to paint, the chest looks brilliant though. Did you spray paint a white undercoat first?

Formula93- lmao, funny you should mention that... That's why you see the primer up there but no paint. I transformed him about 6 times before taking him apart, just to figure out where all of my rubbing issues where going to be. It wasn't until I was looking at that hinge piece that I realized "wait a minute...that's gonna suck" so yeah, Ill be sanding that back down.

INCOM- Nope, that's 3 layers of Krylon Fusion gloss white. I gave it a 90% alcohol bath, and washed it all down with hot soapy water for better cling, and will be hitting it with about 3-4 layers of Dull coat when its complete. The only things I primed where the robotic parts as I am hand painting Tamyia acrylics over them, and wanted them to bond to the plastic better. I am using model master primer for them as I remember from doing models (much different than my Joe customs) that the paint held fast like a rock after.

Thanks for the comments guys. Cant wait to get more work done on the bad boy. I'm a little nervous about weathering that white paint as I don't want to over do it, but I think Ive got a pretty good game plan for that as well. Any and all feedback about this project is more than welcome!

Posted my weekly update of new progress pics. Couple of touch ups to do to a few minor detail areas (anal about that kinda stuff...) but this is how he sits this week.. I have a theory about removing the wheels I havent seen mentioned before that I am going to take a crack at. Ill be taking pics as I got and post them if it all works out as planned.

Let me know what you guys think so far, and thanks for the input...
