Transformers Tracks w/LEDs WIP

Hey gang, here's some progress on my Tracks figure.

Added LEDs to the eyes, tail lights, and head lights.

Other than the electronics he'll be a straight up repaint. I'll be trying to do the flaming phoenix w/ Autobot symbol in it like the original.

Neon? Really? I could do it, but would it be worth the effort? (read as: would it up the sale price?)

At first thought I equate under car neon to more like "drift" style cars or "urban" type custom cars.

But thinking about it more, Tracks' vanity would totally go for under car neon.

So I'd like more opinions on this. Neon or no neon?

Just an idea upon going with the neon, if possible have one of those sensors attached in line with the lights so that when it detects noise (or music) the neons will flash to the beat.

That would be cool, but the gizmo for that might be too big to conceal in the figure. If I go neon, the EL inverter I need to power the neon would take up the room for weapon storage (which I don't mind, I plan on giving him a new gun anyway). I actually have checked out those beat detectors but I have never found one small enough to utilize in a deluxe size figure.

My son had an Avatar McDonald's kids meal toy that lit up with motion or noise. Its a pretty small toy, if I find it and it works how I think it does I will send it to you just in case. But I do understand size matter with these guys. I'm sure the neon will look cool, and I'm looking forward to seeing the finished piece.

I can't wait to see your G1 flame work. I'll probably just use decals when I get one.

.........I think I will go for neon on Blurr! If you roll him and there is undercar neon glowing beneath him it might look more like a, well like a blurr!:D

That's awesome! Where are you gonna hide the batteries? I can wire up all the LED lights but can never figure out where to put the batteries.

The batteries for the eyes and tail lights are going to be inside the cockpit. The batteries for the head lights will be in the right leg. Both easily replaceable. You have to get real good at making custom battery holders and utilizing every available void given to you, then find the smallest possible way to achieve the correct voltage/milliamps.

I agree Tracks shouldn't have the neon but Blurr, HELL YES!!!!

That's awesome man, I just got this figure and seeing how tiny the spaces are that you squeezed LEDs into blows my mind. WOW!
