You know...I can suspend belief with the best of them. "No way in hell they outran that explosion, you can't drive off a parking garage onto another building", etc. I enjoy big, dumb action like anybody else.
But this...that five minute preview almost gave me a "B.S. tolerance" sensory overload, I don't know if I can take the whole movie. :D
The same guys who made this also made Independence Day and Day After Tomorrow, so they're used to this type of stuff.

Love Cusack, but am I wrong in saying I actually found Transformers more believable? LOL!
This will be eye candy for sure. I have always had a funny thought about the Mayan calendar and it's end time of 12/2012. Maybe they just figured "we'll make another calendar when we get there!" I mean, my calendar ends 12/31/09, is the world gonna end then?:eyes::eek::eek::eyes::burn::burn::burn::burn :

it's funny too that, even the Mayan's (when they were interviewed) discard any misleadings about the world ending on 2012. if i were to go religious and biblical, Revelations said that "no one knows when the world will end, even the angels don;t know, only the Father....."
yeah, what do you expect...people who made the day after tomorrow and ID are suuuuure gonna use the same effects they did. outrun an explosion? wow..tell that to the victims of 911

The world was supposed to end back in May 5, 2000. I think it was the day the planets aligned. I also remember seeing something on tv about 10 years ago about the Pyramids. Something about a timeline and the line ending on May 5th 2000.
I might see this movie. I like the shot of the waves going over the Himalayans.

i saw this Friday night. it's pretty long, 2 1/2 hours. it's def. worth seeing, and well worth the 10 bucks.
of course, it's really farfetched, but so is transforming cars :)

i watched it i think it has epic special effects. I also think the story is good but at the end looking back your like hey wait that does not seem right. It seems idealistic at times also the main characters kinda have to many close calls for you to believe they could survive.
All in all i think it is worth your money just to see the dramatic big effects the story is ok. I am kinda good at predicting movies while watching. This one did not surprise me in that respect i felt like a furtune telling mystic at the ending. Oh on the special effects if you imagine yourself in there position you will get a stomach ache.
I can give it 7 out of 10 because i did not notice the plot holes until after i reflected on it

This movie is like going to the fair and eating 3 elephant ears, a funnel cake, 4 chili-dogs and a pizza cheesesteak and then riding the Gravitron.
