Well, just like the thread title says. How did you come up with your screen name?
For me, Hotwire started out as a comic character I came up with about 15 years ago, who could control electronic devices just by touching them. Then, as I got back into Transformers, I got to hinking that there should just be a Transformer named Hotwire, and for some reason, there isn't.

Let's see if I can give a down and dirty version of the reason behind my name.....well up until Cybertron,there had never been a TF named Overhaul,I had always had this idea of a TF similar to Hot Rod named Overhaul,he'd have a muscle car of some sorts as an alt mode,be really fast,things like that.
So when I heard about the Overhaul figure for Cybertron,I got all excited thinking he might be like my character,then to my disappointment he is the opposite of my character,an SUV.So then I finally decided to start fleshing out my character more,had an artist friend do me a drawing of him and then Downshift was announced and I knew right away that I had found my Overhaul.I then joined TFW2005 under the name Overhaulimus so I wasn't confused as to being a Cyb Overhaul fan and well the rest is history I guess.
My screen name is just my real name! Lol. Nobody ever does it that simple or straightforward on these forums, so I thought I'd change it up a little bit. You'll notice my avatar picture is just a picture of myself as well. Crazy!
I like the idea of a, "Hotwire" transformer, have you ever made a custom to represent the character?

my wife and i are almost polar opposites, she says i disagree with her so much that I might as well be a heretic, so i ran with it, couldn't very well use some of the other names she calls me. I go by Mswi on a few other boards, lack of any form of creativity, its just my 1st initial and the first 3 letters of my last name. Been a member there far too long to change it now

Well, it all started in winter 2007. it was a GAY OL' TIME! More and more people started to dislike G W Bush, the Housing economic bubble started to rise, and no one was still tired of American Idol (I have, since episode 1). The streets filled with snow, and the major reason for people leaving their homes was for America's favorite pastime, SHOPPING! I joined those ranks just for one interesting device that got my attention. A Playstation 3 game console.
From there on, I learned to play all kinds of games. Call of Duty 4, Uncharted, and my super favorite, The Orange Box. A few months have passed and I finally decide to get internet service. Hmm, what's this? "Mul-ti-play-ERRR?" That's where the PS3 prompted me for a sort of callsign for the online account. My best one at that time became FreedomFighter87. One of the best games I've ever played on the PS2. But I am easily bored all the time of many things I do. And of course time did not spare this once exciting name. So I changed it into another one of my fave games, FREEMAN. If you have played that game, Half-Life 2, you'll understand why I liked that name so much. Gravity gun? Intense battles? Claustrophobia inducing sectors? Man this game stayed in my head so much I couldn't think straight at work sometimes. However, time came again, like it always does. And more and more ideas came to my head. In total, I have had at least 12-14 account names. THAT was a lot of fun. From some simple names to some funny sounding, derogatory names, I changed them ALL! my online friends couldnt stand deleting and adding me every 2-4 weeks or more.
And then one day it happens, BO gets elected, and i get fired from work. DAMN. Obama wasn't lying about change. Oh well. On to other en devours. The Playstation 3 is still fun to play with at that time, but I was unaware of a uncommonly diagnosis of the console. On March, 2009, the Playstation finally gives in to its health. And just over two years, it dies. Heh, 2 console years must be like 80 human years eh? Anyways, my behavior changed instantly. My eyes were less drowsy, my hair was combed more frequently, and I was exercising a lot more like I used to. I was FREED! And thanks for reading this long.

Mines based off of the Sega PS2 game Shinobi (Hotsuma to be exact) and I just wanted to make it sound robotic so I added a tron!
My names Tony and I make Customs so TonysCustoms woulda been cool. But I felt "z" is always left out so I changed it up.(That and I also did some research and found that the latter url was taken by some guy that makes boats lol)

I created Altitron back in '98 when Beast Wars popular on Saturday morning. He was an evil Predacon who transformed into a giant grasshopper. You see, much like Tyler Durden's penguin, the grasshopper was my Power Animal...
I was 14 or so when I came up with this guy, and I did so for an online Beast Wars RPG. It was probably the worst character application known to mankind... BUT IT GOT ME IN
Altitron... what a name. ALTI was meant for 'altitude', because he was an aerial, like Terrorsaur and Waspinator. And then I threw TRON on the end to make him sound like he belonged on a Transformers cartoon. Little did I realize at my young, innocent age that I had just applied for a character with 'Tit' in the middle of his name.
Over the years, the character has adapated and evolved, changing when necessary but always maintaining that core personality. He now represents my online identity, from Ebay to Xbox Live.

been using this handle as my pen name/sig on my drawings since high school. then i ended up using the same name when i registered on the first toy forum i participated. the rest is history.
though the problem of using 'Squall' is that the name is quite common, like other people are using the same name as well..

In my Old Computer (now Completely destroyed) My Username was C25, when I tried Registering for Youtube, there was already a C25, so I just made it C2567, It seems random, but I'll never forget it.. lol I just used my Youtube name here for more recognition if some of my friends/subscribers at youtube are here..

lionfire is a name i was using as a kid on all my drawings and stuff(it was also my first tattoo), and the "shg" at the ends stands for "silver hand guild". its sort of from a book i read a long while back...but only part of it. kinda confusing haha. but most places i use this name or just lionfire, and i almost always name my video game characters lionfire.

Well, for starters, my first name is Darrell. My father's name is also Darrell. My grandfather's name is also Darrell. During my childhood, we all lived within 100 feet of each other too.
So to avoid confusion, everyone just called me D.J. A couple of years ago, I changed it to Deej because everyone just shorted D.J. to Deej anyway.
After awhile, I adapted The into my screen name, and it's stuck ever since.

I invented my screen name last year ago, and it's made to fit my personality... Rattrap was my fave character from Beast Wars, he was a bit mean, cynic ad very funny. I called myself his tail because I am sorta a Rattrap but then worse, or less depending on the situation. This username is used only for TF related stuff. For everything else, you can find me, on Custombionicle.wikia.com as an example, as SubAqua, or TheSubAqua in Youtube's case.... That name is because of my home country Holland which lies in fact half below sea-level, and I live near the see so figure outourself whether I live above it or below^^

I chose my username based on the fact that I like hardcore (hXc), punk, and the number 23 for the great Michael Jordan (huge fan of his--grew up watching Jordan and the Bulls).

Mine is complicated i was naming a band i was trying to form. I wanted the name of my band to mean big sin. so i came up with novasinn.
However novasin is the drug they give to cows to prevent Mad cod disease. So not wanting to be a drug for cows i added an A and an N at the end creating anovasinn. It was suposed to mean A-big-sin. so wanting not to let my good idea go to waste i used it as my customizing name.
The only good thing about my handle is you can google it and come up with me in the top results. Other than that no one even can figure out how to pronounce it much less spell it from memory

I snagged this username from a friend, who was writing up a little vampire short story. One of the clans in the novel was the "Clan Methusalen", a corruption of the biblical character "Methuselah", a patriarch who lived nearly a thousand years. My buddy decided that Methuselah was actually the first vampire, brought back to life by God himself...
The short story never went anywhere, but I snagged the name for my first email account, and then started using it for message boards. Luckily, the spelling is unique, and there really haven't been many times that I've been unable to use it online.

People actually call me Dozz here. :D That's what all my friend call me. It's kinda like my Bmxer name circa 2003-2007. I got that name because at that time my riding style was inspired by a Japanese rider named Dozo Okada.. hence my bike friends called me Dozz or 'The Dozz'.. and I add 'vader' as I also like darth vader character very much, and tada!.. DozzVader became my permanent screen/street name.

...now that I think of it. The idea of spelling my name backwards was something I saw someone post. "How to come up with your Jedi name". Spell your name backwards.
I used my first and middle name and became Jedi Master Solrac Nauj. Then Solrac Nauj, then just Solrac, and then Solrac + time I was born.

There are a ton of character names throughout the original trilogy, prequel trilogy and expanded universe stories made up of anagrams of Lucasfilm employees, authors, famous people, etc. Sometimes just backwards, sometimes just rearranging...

Mine is a pretty boring story. I didn't get a computer until I was in High School, and didn't know jack crap about them. My dad set up my email account for me and chose the lamest account name, first name dot last name. I lived with that for a few months until I got tired of it and asked him to change it to Red Dragon, because I was SUPER into DnD at the time. Anyhow, he comes home the next day and said that it was already taken, but had succeeded in procuring the name reddragon162. I accepted it and the rest is history.

Back in the late 90s I joined the TheForce.net forums with username IncomT65. Incom's the manufacturer of the X-Wing (among other craft) and T65 is the designation of that ship.
I then used it at every forum, and later switched to just Incom, if available.

Based on a fanfic I did back in '99. Scratimus Prime is Optimus' Older sibling who Megatron captured and experimented on. Now he's sociopathic, spark devouring(Transabsorb Tech) vampire that cannot kill Megatron (put a safety on that) or Optimus due to what I call in my TF universe the Matrix link.
I had a DW artist draw him but It has no color any takers?
highlighted circles are transabsorbers(things he uses to devour sparks) the lens in them are emerald green.

I got my name because I play basketball and the term ankle break is when you crossover someone that makes them trip, fall, stumble, etc...since i'm not that good I put CankleBreaker because its easier to beat a fat person with cankles at basketball. :P

i got mine when the first xmen movie came out, i'm 6'3" 240 pounds and have long blonde hair. after the movie all anyone would say to me after seeing it was "you should be sabretooth for halloween! you look just like him, it would be awesome!!!" to this day i still have not ;)

My screen name is short for My Imagination and Dreams. It was created for this site but combines my appeals to graphic design, transformers, and now customizing. So I shortened it down to M.I.D. My avatar is a drwing of Sideswipe's face as though you were looking through a hole. Then I added the glowing eyes. I guess in the end not very imaginative but it works.

I started out in 2008 showing my customs on HissTank.com which is a GI Joe site. Zartan was always one of my favorite characters but there was already someone using that name, so I just went with Zartanman and I wanted to keep the name for all the other boards I was on so I could keep people knowing my customs.

In fact my name is David (I know, go figger right)
Big Hank is what I affectionately named my *ahem* closest "friend" (yeah, THAT friend)
I originally used the name to torment and antagonize my girlfriend, which she obviously thought was childish and stupid.
So she left me no choice (LOL), I changed all my logins and passwords to all my forums, sites, and accounts to Big Hank (or some variation of).
So now she's pretty much used to confronting Big Hank one way or another, LOL!
