Anyone see this yet. Very cool movie. I saw the original version first. This was a very good remake. More intense. LOVE the ending. That is all I will say.

I'm seeing it today. The original is one of my all time favorite movies, but I'm excited to see what changes were made to this one. Still, its kinda sad that this was remade just because Americans don't like to "read" their movies.

It has the same vibe but flows a little better. They did have to cut some parts out and made some changes but still awesome. My wife saw it again last night.
After talking about it, my favorite character is the gym/swimming teacher. He just makes me laugh. :)

You know, I was kinda disappointed. It was okay, and I liked some of the changes. Especially the photobooth strip. But I still prefer the original.

I saw the original several years ago... that's good enough for me. I can't stand the fact that hollywood just loves to remake shit instead of coming up with something new. And because of that, I refuse to support these films. Fuck 'em.

I guess that means you won't be supporting the Star Wars 3D.
I think the original version came out 2 years ago and they got the rights to make this movie almost immediately. They did do a good job of it.

I liked that they got rid of the drunken group of friends and replaced them with the cop. I also like how you never really see Owen's mom or dad. Makes the things he does make more sense. And Richard Jenkins as Abby's "helper" was PERFECT. That scene from the backseat of the car that he wrecks is one of the best shots ever.
Don't get me wrong, I really liked the movie, just not AS MUCH as the original. One thing I thought was completely unnecessary was the CGI Abby. Just looked out of place. Also, I can see WHY they took out the full frontal shot of Abby, but it makes her "I'm not a girl" lines have no payoff. If you've read the book, it is explained in sphincter-tightening detail.

If it was going to be a new film, a re-make, shot using new actors, then you bet your ass I would. But it's not. It's just going to be a 3D-ized version of the original film. While I don't necessarily agree with that idea, I simply can't pass up the chance to see the original trilogy on the big screen again. In all honesty, I may skip the prequels in 3D because I really wasn't that big of a fan of them.

I will boycott that. I hate the 3D trend. And I wish Lucas would use this time to make NEW movies instead of beating these to death.
