So I decided to take a break from the norm a bit here, and get back to what really got me into this hobby: Clone Troopers.

This is one of the 12" Clone Troopers in Phase 1 armor from Sideshow Collectibles. Its very well articulated, with interchangeable hands and 2 blaster rifles. The detail on these figures is awesome, but the plain white armor is just that, plain.

I'm a big fan of the Clone Wars toons, and Commander Gree was one of my favorites so I decided to make one of the troopers under his command. All of the armor was removed, then cleaned and primed, and sprayed using Tamiya acryls. He was then given a few nicks and scrapes so he's not such a "Shiney". I plan to do a few more of these soon, got a couple on their way to me right now. Enjoy

Really cool stuff! I've dabbled in SW customizing, need to get more into it.

Does the shade of green relate to the 41st Corps or is that an artistic decision? I really like it against the white armor.

Thanks BH, actually it does. In the Clone Wars cartoons, Commander Gree's battalion is white and green, while still in Phase 1 armor. If you watch Episode 3, they're the army garrisoned on the wookie planet, that have dark green or camo Phase 2 armor.

This is the Sideshow statue of Commander Gree:

Ah, got it! Also I have to say the pics seem a bit "low res" to me. A little grainier than pics you did of say, your Devs and Sunstorm. Trying new settings or just a fluke?

EDIT** I like your Trooper better than the Sideshow one!

Probably missing something on the settings, for some reason the camera went back to default a while back and I havent been able to find the sweet spot again. I'll keep playing with it and see if it gets any better.

Well don't play with it too much or else you'll go blind!

This is very, very, well done. Making him less shiny for one is a huge improvement. The green looks as though it came that way on the armor!! I also like the lens coloring on the helm. Great job!

Why thank you sir, he didnt make the cut on ebay though, so I guess he's stayin on my shelf afterall. Nicky wants him anyway, she loves the Clone Wars series, it was actually her idea.
