yeah, been meaning to write a thread about this movie.
We saw it in IMAX on friday night (packed theater)
One of the best movies I've ever seen. I'm confident it will win a plethora of awards, so see it in the theater before it's too late. Go for broke, blow out your eardrums and eyes with IMAX while you're at it.
pretty deep plot, it seemed the meatheads in the row in front of us were lost about 20 minutes in when they all jumped on their iPhones for the rest of the show.

Yea man, the movie was pretty deep. I tired to explain it to Encline but I had to say..Just go see the movie cause I wasn’t doing it justice.
Anyway, what do u think? Did the spinner stop or keep spinning?

And it wasnt necessarily complicated, it just had a lot to keep track of. At one point there was what, FIVE levels of "reality" going on?

Yup, I think it kept going. One thing that really annoyed me was all the damn guns fire. Shit they drive right up on the Van and unloaded! they all should of took a bullet!

I imagine that the whole movie could've been just Leo's limbo. :)

Leo was in my dream last night. I think he was trying to steal my secrets. But then I dreamed of Titanic and he drowned.
Movie was awesome! I don't see what was so complicated about it the way people kept talking about it.

I finally saw it in the theatre last night. It is definitely one of the best movies I've ever seen. I'd have to sit and think about shit for awhile, but I'm pretty sure it's on my top 5 all time list.
On a side note, I wish I could swindle a private screening somehow and totally immerse myself in the film without all the damn distractions from everyone in attendance.

I thought it was pretty damn good. I think the top kept spinning as well. I think it would be cool to get into someone's head like that. There are a few suggestions I'd like to give my wife:D

I think the whole movie was about inception being performed on Cobb, so he can come to terms about his wife. The whole movie was his dream. What do u think?

The top kept spinning, which meant he was in someone else's dream, so whose dream was he in ? Who wanted him to get past the issue with his wife and get back to his kids. The Michael Caine character. Who introduced him to the new architect Ariadne who kept pushing him to confront the issue with his wife ? The Michael Caine character. If the top had stopped spinning it would have meant it was either reality or Cobb's dream, but it didn't stop, which meant he was in someone else's dream. Get it ? Of course, I could be completely wrong. This movie has been a favorite topic of discussion amongst my friends since we saw it. Everyone seems to have their own ideas and theories. I'm not gonna try to convince anyone that they are wrong, I'm just stating what currently seems to make the most sense to me. I do need to see it again but won't have the chance until it's out on Blu Ray. Regardless of the debates and argument about the ending, it was an awesome movie. The kind of movie experience that rewards the viewers that are able to keep up with it.

Shoot! I thought he made it home and that was that. I didn't even know there was a discussion about it. Now I have to think about it.
If he is in a dream, maybe the top shook because who ever is dreaming was moved in that moment.

I don't think the top spinning meant he was in someone else's dream per se, just that he wasn't back in reality. Also... didn't someone else (the Asian guy, who hired him, that was stuck in limbo and had turned old) touch the top? I don't think they explained why that was a bad thing, but I know that several times during the film one person tried to touch another person's object, and they always stopped them from doing that.
Which brings up another point... if it was so important that no one else touch the object that connected you back to reality, how could he be using the top, since he said it was his wife's object when she was doing this with him? Could that have screwed the pooch somewhere?

DAMN THESE QUESTIONS! The movie made sense to me when I saw it. Now I am lost.

After seeing it again this weekend, I have a new theory. I think that the movie is real up until he goes to see the chemist. Every time he "wakes" from a dream, before that, he spun the top, and made sure it fell over. After the chemist puts him under, he goes to spin the top and gets interrupted. So I think everything after that is all in his head.
Still a great movie, no matter how you understand it.

what about before that scene when cobb is being chased and runs through an alley but gets stuck and has to squeeze out. That was very dream like don't you think?

Someone in a dream and did u noticed how saved him? I really think the whole movie was a dream. Also the scene where cobb is talking to his father-in-law when he was trying to recruit a new architect he tells him he needs to do this last job to get back home. His father-in-law responses "come back to reality" This is another reason why I believe the whole movie was cobb's dream and they where preforming inception on him so can let go of the guilt. What do u think? Everyone was just different projections of cobb's subconscious he had to face. Saito, Ariadne, Miles and Cobb were the only real people in the movie. What do you think?

The whole thing at the end about the top spinning or stopped doesn't matter, what we do know is that he found peace in his dream of course. That's why the kids were always in the same place doing the same thing in the same clothes and when they finally turned to face him he was at peace. What do u think?
