View Full Version : Light Up ROTF Soundwave Need Feedback

OK Guys so this is one of my first attempts at customizing ROTF style transformers.

As you can see Soundwave Lights up in his Head, chest and shoulders.

I have mounted him to an Iron Man base, so he is no longer transformable. He would just sit on your desk.

You hit the button on the back to make the lights work which are on a timer and go off. Its pretty easy to change out the batteries.

one problem I had though was getting the shaft he is mounted on to stay straight, dunno if it is a huge problem or if I should try to fix it or not. What do you guys think?

Also was thinking about adding the tentacles hanging off the base or from under his arms? Suggestions?

What do you guys think? You think I'd get any money for this on ebay? What should I do to improve him? Etc. Any comments or suggestions greatly appreciated.

I think since you don't see him transforming in the movie, the figure is fine. Maybe if you can make him shinier like a gloss clear coat. Hopefully that won't affect the LED's. The LED's are great! Tentacles I think would be great. Maybe Doc Oc limbs? Jin Saotome added tentacles to his.

The rod being not perfectly straight does not bother me at all, but for some reason I find the Decepticon block a bit distracting. Maybe because the IM base is so "techy" and the block is not. Overall a great great rendition and altmod only doesn't bother me at all!:D

Thanks for all the feedback guys. So would you suggest I cover the block with something a little more TEch ish?

LED's look great. i would straighten him out, add some details, and i think some detachable tentacles would be awesome. He'd make a great addition to any collector.

Depending on how much he means to you, i would set a firm starting price or reserve price on ebay at the moment.

having this guy on ebay a week after TFTM3 comes out, I'm sure he would sell very well

To my eye, that is what it needs. maybe if you have a couple junker bots lying around you can crack them open and look for techy bits. I know ROTF Scorponok has tons of gears and things inside you could use to dress up the block. I'm sure you have some usable stuff lying around!:D
