OK OK I know I know, everybody and their brother seems to hate the Transformers movies, but I really don't understand why they hate them SO much.
I get why people don't care for GI Joe, I didn't care for most of it either. It really did seem like a big stinker... but all in all I enjoyed both Transformers movies at the theater and I've even watched them both more than once on DVD.
There are parts of ROTF that I actually LOVE a lot. There are carry overs from the cartoon that I thought was well done.
Are they perfect movies? No their not perfect, but I consider them to be very well done.
The things that bug me the most honestly are the tid bits like, the scenes being disjointed to make it seem like there was more than one set of Constructicons but that was more editing.
I didn't' like the first one seemingly loose plot point with the glasses and all that either... but all in all I really don't know why there is so much Visceral Hatred toward these movies.
But then again, I'm a big fan of Armageddon too. Shrugs.. everyone has opinions.

I concur. I enjoyed these movies. The more I watch ROTF the more I think the story is retarded, but I still enjoy watching it. I am definitely looking forward to the third one, and then when someone else takes over, their take on the Transformers franchise. I hope they go on for along time and allow me to keep watching them with my daughter, who I have molded into a TF fan. Heh heh heeeeh. People hate them so much because they want it to be just like the cartoon, but it never will be. The first season of G1 was all about finding energy sources to make Energon to take over the universe. The second movie was all about trying to turn the sun into Energon to take over the universe. I admit that I was severely disappointed with Devastator since he's one of my faves, and the fact that he looked nothing like his cartoon/comic counter part and the other fact that he was in the movie for all of 10 minutes were disappointments. I hope the third movie makes up for it and gives us a real gestalt like Bruticus, or Menasor and sees the bad guys having their day, and not just to be thwarted in the end. I was hoping for an Empire ending for ROTF, but they could do it with the 3rd. Everything doesn't always have to be trilogies.

I liked both movies, I just didnt think they were anything spectacular. I'll just say I expected a lot more than I got out of it. The G1 cartoons werent very well written either, atleast after the first season. I'm just glad Michael Bay didnt turn the lost city of Atlantis episode into a movie, that would've really sucked whale dick.

No. I was super-hyped about the first movie, before it came out. I went to BotCon '07 to be able to see it earlier than anyone else in the country, in a theatre filled with other die-hard TF fans. Seeing the movie again after BotCon was like the morning after a one night stand. I just felt dirtier each time I saw it.
There are a million things I could list about why I hate Bay's Transformers movies, but the big thing for me is that whatever story they are trying to tell just makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. I really believe that Bay wrote the script for TF2 himself, and when the strike was over the other writers were brought in to attempt to salvage whatever they could from a steaming pile of poo.
But that's just me. I really didn't want these movies to be G1 reincarnated. I probably would've hated them even more if they had attempted that. I'd rather G1 be left alone, honestly. That way no one really fucks up my childhood. I actually prefer this new movie-verse being independent of all of those wonderful memories I have as a kid. :)

Love the first hate the second. I despise RoTF with dire passion. Possible the worst movie ever created besides the first Blood Rayne movie . . . or anything by Uwe Bowl. Another prob I have is all the damn insect looks. I hate seeing everything change from a vehicle into giant insect.

I loved the first one and loved ROTF even MORE! I really do not see the problem other than people hating Bay. Bay got me back into TF's. If it wasn't for the movies, I wouldn't be here. I would be playing video games right now.

This is what I'm talking about. FINALLY Somebody else who loves ROTF. I seriously can't fathom how anyone can say Blood Rayne and ROTF are anywhere in the same zipcode with each other.
I couldn't even watch more than the first ten minutes of Blood Rayne the acting was so horrid.

My wife loves it too.
Did you ever see Nick Swardson's stand up talking about Transformers? What he says is true. :)
