25th Anniversary Ninja Turtles (Continuous Project)

Ever since I decided 3.75"/1:18th/4" scale was the scale for me, I've have had the goal of making characters from Ninja Turtles. The more modern Foot is the easiest to make, so I started there.

I've Divided them into waves. Wave I is Foot Ninja (Archer), Karai, and Agent Bishop. Wave II is Shredder, Foot Ninja (Strongman), and the Technodrome Module. Wave III is still being worked on.

As I said on every forum I post her on, the lighting betrays Karai's flesh tones. They look far better in person. She is currently getting a much overdue upgrade.

I made this one long ago and took it apart after finishing the Indy style Bishop. In fact, I forgot about it until I uploaded these pics. Btw, it is nice to that the 2k3 Leatherhead is already on scale.

From the moment Resolute Storm Shadow showed up, people started calling it Shredder. Personally, I think he looked more like Shredder's Elite Guard minus the hats and capes (which I hope to make one day). However, when combined with a Zartan and a some other parts, he looks like Shredder from the 2k3 series. While Ch'rell doesn't wear a cape in the show, The Ninja Tribunal does (all of which have the same kind of armor).

This was meant to be my troop builder Foot Ninja, but he's taller than everyone else (Including Shredder!) so I've nicknamed him Strongman. So, I think I might just keep making different Foot types, then make 2-3 of each and they'll add up to the army I want.

From the moment the Mole Pod popped up on the net, I knew I was making me one of Krang's Modules. However, why did Hasbro make the tip a missile? It made this simple repaint far harder. First I had to shave the hell out of that missile, then remove the function (the button is some of that "unpaintable" plastic), then glue the dang thing in. Also, Mutagen Bazooka added for fun.

This wasn't made to go with the rest, but it works better with these figures as Metalhead towers over the Turtles in the fiction, but the toy is no taller than the Turtles. I figure this is what Donatello did after Metalhead was busted up a few to many times. Made him as dirty looking as I could.

Finally, a Turtle! Still working to make a full body one, but this is as close as it gets without a lot more time. In the CGI movie, Raph takes on the mantle of Nightwatcher. I've thought about making him for some time, but didn't like the idea of making him without an alt head without the helmet. Once I got the Tri-Gate head, I put this together in under a day. He's a bit taller than he should be. I'm just happy to have a Turtle.

He turned out very well considering how long I've worked on him. Took me forever to get the eyes that way. I just can't do normal eyes, so outlining them like the original Casey toy was the next best thing. I think he may be my best of the TMNT customs I've done. The Tri-gate head helped a great deal.

Finally have an April figure. In season 4 (may have been season 3) of the 2003 series, April got a new jumpsuit. She appears in the intro this way and one or two episodes (ones I've only seen 1-2 times, so I'd have to get help pointing them out). I really liked this suit because her tiny shirt design never sat well with me. Don't get me wrong I like that design and all, but it just didn't always work (Especially when she was working in a lab). Really wish she had used this one more. Weapons wise, I gave her some Butterfly swords and a short sword on her back. Like Casey, she has white strips on the sides that can't been seen head on. The hair turned out far better than I thought it would. I only dislike that her hair is the same color as Casey's shirt. Overall, I'm happy with her. Still hope to make the old toon April as well (dambe yellow paint...).

She is sooooooooooo close. Theres only one single problem I have with her: Her legs are uneven. The left leg is longer. It's the combination of the leg parts that makes it that way. Sadly, those are the only upper legs that work with both the torso and lower legs. Oh well, she's in action poses most of the time anyways. It's still better than those original crappy legs I had on her. Originally, she had a chain coming off her belt. Now, I've taken that chain and made her a full kusarigama. Amazing how many chain weapons I've made and this is only the first time I've done a correct kusarigama (which is one of my favorite ninja weapons). The daggers have been replaced because the old ones were to tight and it was putting paint off. In the past, a friend has nicknamed these daggers "letter openers."
