Hell yes to getting a nice warm welcome! Thanks for the compliments too!
And here is my first question. What's the best type of glue to use for customs? Superglue doesn't seem reliable enough and E6000 sucks for small parts.

Welcome aboard! The best glue in terms of strength is 2 part epoxy's that come in syringe type tubes. They take a while to dry and smell horrible though. I have the best results with Locktite and Gorilla super glues if I need something bonded fast.

Yep your new Fallen blows my freakin mind. I may try to make one for myself to be sized right with my ROTF Leaders.
How do you connect parts you chop up so they are stable? The Fallens leg and arm extensions for example. I'd be worried that if I tried something like that it would come apart easy. Do you use the liquid 2 part stuff too?

I use two part epoxies and this stuff from the plumbing department in home depot. It is a gray two part that only allows about 6 minutes to work with but when it hardens, it is as hard if not harder than the plastic. Also, I use posts. For instance, in the legs, I dremeled holes when I connected the pieces together and put tooth picks inside for stability.

When you say it's not reliable enough, what exactly do you mean? Does the bond break down? Or does it not set quickly enough? Doesn't hold the parts you're trying to put together?

I've used superglue for pretty much anything that I've created - except for dioramas or playsets that use foamcore, the superglue will just eat the foam. Sometimes if you're having issues with long set up times for the glue, or inferior bonding, you can use an accelerator on the parts before (or after) you put the glue on them to attach them. I find that the bond is stronger. And it gives you instant cure.

I just mean that with superglue alone, its easy to bump into a part and have it pop back off. The posts inside small dremeled holes thing sounds like a better way to make parts stay on better. I personally know how to handle the customs I make but I want the customs I sell to be as stable as possible.

Hi Solrac! Good to see you here.

Hey can anyone explain how I get a custom logo on my signature or better yet, how to get it at the top of my Ebay listings? That seems to add a great air of professionalism and I have a great graphic designer working on one for me now.

welcome .

i just use super glue for everything. i also use pegs allot and everything i glue together gets a little roughed up on the mating surfaces as well as making those surfaces perpendiculair to each other. I am not bashing the two part stuff i never used it for customs.

Welcome to the boards.
In the one custom where I had to attach parts, I used a combo of super glue and the two part apoxy putty. I had done a foot mod on ROTF Sideswipe. I glued the toe pieces to the front fender, then when it dried, I used the apoxy putty to fill the gaps. My only gripe is that the putty I used was a bit brittle, but that was probably because it was so thin.

Here's a link to show you what I did.

Oh I really like the tattoo on his head and the front being smoothed out with Apoxie. Aside from that I did pretty much the same thing to mine and painted in the vette symbols. http://unicron9.deviantart.com/art/ROTF-Sideswipe-custom-131142733

I just posted on this thread for the logo.
