ive been thinking about getting an airbrush
mind you i know absolutely nothing about airbrushing, the only thing other than its uses that i know is something about ice crystals forming or whatever
bottom line i need to know the best or second best airbrushes for kitbashing
or is there no "airbrush best for kitbashing" and simply just a "best airbrush" ?

for starters, looking for the "best" kind of airbrush is an easy question. then research comes next, and it gets more complicated.... seriously.
you'll be encountering terms such as single action, double action, siphon-feed, gravity feed, internal and external mix, needles, etc. and each of these terms contribute to an airbrush's performance, and these are used in different situations..
anyways, here's what i learned about selecting the best airbrush according to it's features and not specifically the brand..
1. Double Action Airbrush
the air and paint flow can be controlled separately.
2. Gravity Feed
the paint cup is placed on top of the airbrush body. the paint goes down by gravity and not siphoned up like siphon (bottom) feed airbrushes.
3. Internal Mix
the paint and air are mixed inside the airbrush thus creating a finer mist of paint.
having these specs results to finer spray which is best suited on small things such as figures. but the airbrushes which have these features are the expensive ones. but it's really worth the investment. :)
