Skids and Mudflap (collaboration commission with BigHank)

I should have the robot mode pics in a few days. Wanted to post these as they are most likely the most excited alt modes I've ever seen!

This set of Revenge of the fallen twins (Skids and Mudflap) were a collaboration project with a good friend : BigHank. As you might see, BigHank's a master of electronics. Both Skids and Mudflap have been outfitted with multiple working LED lights, even more impressive, Mudflap has 6 lights (4 can be seen here) and Skids has 8 working lights (6 can be seen in his pics) Even more impressive, the electronics/lights don't effect the transformation AND the are all controlled via 1 master switch. Lastly, all LEDs are powered by a sole power source. Unbelievable craftsmanship on BigHank's part.

It was a fun job, I'll definitely get around to making myself a set.

I also want to thank you for pushing me to do my best. F_R was satisfied the first version but was candid about what could be better, and I think he ultimately had the commissioner's best interest at heart.

does that mean there's a mudflap slated for release? I haven't seen anything on that yet. I see no point in buying/customizing skids w/o mudflap....

I don't know anything for sure, just assumed that one will be released eventually.

The locations are pretty fundamental, maybe I'll do an advanced overview for everyone regarding the twins. There are a lot of little engineering obstacles and hurdles.

For example the eyes on Mudflap are scratch built light piping. The dark opaque plastic transmits absolutely no light through the stock eyes. Wierd because they use the same smoky plastic for the headlights, I guess 'cause the eye piece is such a thick piece of plastic.

Also the whole rotational twist involved with TFing them, you have to think about twisting wires and breaking them, and how to overcome such things.

I actually can't wait for bot pics! But truth be told LEDs or not it is the paint that makes it F_R, for sure. Take a look at them with LEDs and no paint and you'll see why i feel this way.

thanks for that compliment. I'll say now, that these 2 came out better than my original set. I even painted the eyes lightly with light blue so they still can look good w/o the light on.
just waiting on the paint to dry then I will re-assmble tomorrow and take pics.

Hey Frenzy/Hank, remember those LEDs added on FR's Jolt custom? You should see if you can add those on and make them look like neon lights under the car-sides, sort of like 2Fast2Furious.
