Are these toys scaled according to deluxe/voyager/leaders as well?

unsure, though I'd guess they are deluxe. Shame they are so TFA styled...

Yupz..Was thinking about that too...Hopefully they make different leader class toys with better details. *thinking about Leader Animated Prime*

Yeah... the Soundwave look almost identical to the animated toy.

Don't care for that animated Soundwave. I have to wait and see what the Prime bot mode looks like. Easy candidate for a repaint. :)

A shame? Looks pretty badass to me. What is it with the TFA hatred around here? That show was of a higher quality and more true to the source material than any other since the original 80's 'toon if you ask me. Is it just the art style or what?

I'm not seeing any of the transformation panel lines of aniamted soundwave on that new soundwave. It could be that they just recycled the alt mode and gave it a newer robot mode.

I agree, the engineering is great on TFA, I just despise the style - to me they look too anime or geared towards a younger crowd.

I read their target audience was 5 years olds. I hated the toys and the style. Too childish.

Just saw the images over at TFW. There's no transformation panel lines on that soundwave because he's an RPM or whatver those things are called.

The Prime is mine!

I don't care for RPMs so I won't be buying Soundwave.

I know what you are saying HOWEVER, they need to aim at children so that the toys and other merchandise can be sold allowing our beloved transformers to continue, as collectors alone wouldnt keep the TF line alive. There will be some gems in there, in every line there is at least 2 good mold (IMO)

Yeah, that Prime does look kinda animated style... but straightened out and normalized.

So far, seems like "win" to me.

I still wish we could have gotten a real War Within set instead of those titanium figures. No need to re-invent the wheel, Don did an awesome job on those designs and it would have worked fine for this set.

Bah, Why cant they expand on the movie line, animated sucked, its for kids as noted by the designs, but I like the robot designs in the Movie, Seriously can you imagine animated prime doing the same things as Movie prime??

I will only getting one (two Max :D) figure and i'm going to wait for all the reviews and everything, then i'm gonna decide.

This has been of TFW's boards for a couple days now. Not sure why it hasn't shown up over here. They say it's Optimus Prime from the new game.

No, I mean that the writers actually wrote the show with little children in mind. better shows like Avatar, Gargoyles, Batman The Animated Series, were not written with little children in mind. The writers wrote stories that THEY would like not "what little kids would like". Even G1 was written that way. They knew kids would watch it. Kids will watch anything that is a cartoon. That show just basically talked down to kids with the writing and the design. Which is why it failed.

You are right. I do have at least 2 molds. 3 actually. Blackarachnia (because I repainted her for a He-man crossover contest), Samurai Jazz (thought he looked cool with the armor even though I hate the concept. I'm going to repaint him one day), and Purple Shockwave. Still, the quality of the figures suck. All weak and flimsy.

Fair point, i think its safe to say that they are always going to struggle to even come close to g1!! I hope the game and tie in toys do well so we can have more classics and universe figures, you never know they could re-do g1 with classic molds? That way we would get the original cast updated that would cost me a few pennies!!

not too keen on the tfa-like designs, but hopfully they are a lot more detailed in bot mode.

Megatron doesn't look like he has enough mass to even contend with Prime. Sad face.

for some reason, i started to hate TFA when it first came out. however, it grew on me and i'm actually liking most of the figs that came out. i hate some though: ratchet, soundwave, bumblebee, and prowl('s alt mode..but nice character). Maybe because these are G1 characters and should have been a semblance of their original characters. So, im loving that Prime we have there and not on mr. Soundwave.
