Okay, you guys know what I'm doing with my Fortress Maximus, right?
(for those that don't know, I'm taking an original G1 Fortress Maximus, cutting it up, giving it articulation, fresh paint job, etc. and turning it into Masterpiece Fortress Maximus)
Anyway, I was doing some thinking. When I first debuted this over at TFW a month or so ago, some people called me an idiot because I was taking a "rare" figure and chopping it up (even got a couple of semi-nasty PM's over it).
Well, I was thinking about something else, but I need the HONEST opinions of you guys. Tell me the truth here, even if you think it may hurt my feelings (which I can guarantee it won't, lol):
...I'm thinking about doing the same to Grand Maximus. Is that insane? Should I leave well enough alone and stop at Fort Max?

hahahah. you might need some medication.
Are there any decent KO versions of GM? Maybe if you keep an eye on ebay, you can find one in poor condition for a lot less?

well I love it.
If it is YOURS, them do what you want.
That's the way we play toys.

I'm already planning to get a Brave Maximus and do the same, but Grand Maximus...that's a WHOLE other area of madness, so I wasn't sure LOL!
From the mods I seen you do to FM, I say go for it. It will look awesome and if thats what you want to do then there is no reason to stop you.

A response to rarity. an articulated Fortress Maximus is even rarer. its all perspective. to me even if it is rare, its still a toy, not a 17th century crown jewel. good luck either way.

FM is cool, Grand Max IMO would be crazy if its a complete one. Do what you want but I would not do that to a Grand.
Why not Paint another FM to look like Grand? Make the Pretender shell from a older Pretender?

...I'm a moron. :bag:
Since I'm going to put a new coat of paint on there anyway, why not just use a Fort Max since it's about 1/4 the cost.
Thanks for the input, guys! Now it's back to work...

TFW got some nasty people too :-) my opinion is, Go for it. FM or GM, it's what you do with it that matters.
i always believe its not just the toy, but the service and "upgrade" we do with what we have that makes us really good with what we do.
i'd like to take a whack at a FM if we had it here.
dude, you have my blessing. let the Carnage begin (err..i know you already did..so too late for this..LOL!)!!

If you've got the money to do it, do it, its your toy.
I would only be critical of it if you were on your second mortgage and you were buying up rare toys when you have other obligations.

Your FM is one of the most impressive customizing that I have seen in a long while. Even you have to cut up a piece like this but you are turning it into a MASTERPIECE. That alone is worth everything. Forget the naysayers. They might have their own opinions, but it is yours and yours only that counts.
Rock on, bro.
