Use a small soldering iron and heat the pin. Work the wheel back and forth GENTLY until the wheel comes free. be very careful not to force it and don't heat the pin too long. If you do you will damage the piece the pin sits in.

It can ve very frustrating. You don't know how many wheel hubs I've snapped off because I heated the pin too long. Just take your time and all will be well.

Another trick, I just thought of would be to heat the pin, but then use a very strong magnet on a stick to pull the pin. That way, you don't have to make the wheel itself what pulls the pin out.

It would have to be an extremely strong magnet for it to work. The pin is usually really tight in the hole plus the ridges at the end don't make it any easier.

Well, you would still heat it first, so that would help. But I'm sure we can find a magnet up to the job.

Where would we find a magnet that strong?

maybe heat the pin, work the wheel/pin out a tad bit, push the wheel back in, maybe have enough room to grab the pin with some pliers? and pull the pin out?
this is just theory, i've never taken pins and wheels out and replace them. but it seems like it could work, i dunno.

Out of an old speaker.
