Kept ruining the trilogy, gave us a shitty prequel with few cool parts compared to the original, keeps changing his story that Star Wars was going to be one movie, but then had to break it into 3 parts, but then says there are 9 then says no it was always 6 and always meant to be 6 but now says he won't make more because we killed the series.

He's right in that it's his creation, so it's his to alter any way he wants it. I know my Star Wars, the SW I grew up with back in the 80s. I really don't give a crap about all those changes, despite being a junkie and buying every damn re-re-re-re-re-re-re-release. I didn't buy the BR set, because I felt I had to draw a line somewhere. I watch the CW cartoons, but with one eye and only to see if I can get some inspiration for customizing.
It's all just snippets on that MSN site, but if he feels the fans have ruined it for him, than he's turned into a really sad little man. He can do whatever he wants with the saga, but he has to take the criticism like a man.

Man, I have been done with Lucas for a long time. He hasn't been a Director of writer since ROTJ. Everything he touches is just garbage. Always trying to push the boundary he forgot the important stuff like...substance, drama, story line, character development. He's just horrible now, surround by so many yes men that he properly believes that the Prequels were good. Or that Indiana Jones Crystal Skull whatever movie was good.
Rick McCallum should get it to. Matter of a fact, George should drop him with one punch. This guy was a yes man to worst degree. I mean come-on. All these guys had to be secretly thinking how bad TPM and AOTC were. Sure there were good parts but for Star Wars films they should be embarrassed with most of the movie.
George Retired a long time ago, he’s just finally admitting it to himself.
Can not wait to see Red Tails bomb..it looks like a cheesy ripoff of StarShip Troopers..

It is his creation but at the same time, you have to know when to stop. All the time and energy re re re re re re re re re re editing his movies is time and energy towards the sequel trilogy. And he is definitely surrounded by yes men. If you watch some of the behind the scenes for Ep 1. you see a part where all of the young artists are waiting for Lucas to arrive and give his approval for the art. He shows up and says to change some stuff and you can tell by the look of their faces they were crushed but they said "YES" and "GREAT IDEA" and then he leaves.

I agree with the fact the the original trilogy should have been left alone a LONG time ago, but I do like the Clone Wars series on TV and would LOVE to see something similar done with the characters of the original Trilogy.

Ooo I want the whole series done in Clone Wars style. Thats probably blasphemy though.

I've met the man before... practically worshiped the ground he walked on. We cannot deny that he had the Midas touch. Actually, a great business sense.
Now, I think I've liked the prequels more than others, been VERY forgiving about a lot of aspects of them, but... there was a LOT of stupid in them. Ewan Magregor is a fine actor, yet GL couldn't pull a performance from him. Sam Jackson? WTF? And Natalie Portman CANNOT act her way out of a paper bag.
And Lucas wants to blame me for the dumb things he did? Sorry Lucas- you did it, not me.
But THANK YOU for the rest of your great contributions to cinema- mostly technological. Sorry- appalled- to see your leaving over it. So man up, grow your dick back, and churn out a better INDY than that last peice of fecies.

Lucas is a bonehead, spent too much time revising the original trilogy before releasing the prequels, time that would've been more wisely invested in dropping Jar Jar from existence. I can understand wanting to change things to match the vision in your head, but when you create something like he did, that becomes a phenomenon like it did, it's better just to leave it alone and focus on the next piece. I'm not as disappointed with the prequels as some are, aside from the "romance" if you wanna call it that, I don't think they were that bad. I also enjoy the Clone Wars series, and I'm glad atleast part of the story is continuing onward with new content.
Heh, and I think it's funny that "nuked the fridge" took the place of "jumped the shark" to describe franchises, stories, and series that take a turn for the worse. Crystal Skull, what a joke....

Michael Bay can apparently handle criticism more than GL.

I like the Clone Wars series too but what I hate is that if he had done a better job with the prequels, there probably would be no need for a series. Seems like the series is there to make up for the prequels. As for the prequels, I like Ep 1 but HATE Jar Jar and don't like young Anakin, HATE Ep 2 and HATE Anakin, LOVE Ep 3 but only dislike Anakin slightly less.

Lucas' biggest problem is that he can't stand to sit back and let somebody else have the reigns. Never mind the fact that when he generates the ideas, and somebody ELSE does the directing (Kershner for Empire, Spielberg for the first three Indy flicks), an amazing movie comes as a result.
I know that they're friends, but even Speilberg has to know that George has lost it as a filmmaker. They had a really great script for the 4th Indy movie from Frank Darabont (Shawshank Redemption, Green Mile, Walking Dead, etc), and Lucas tossed it out completely because he thought his idea was better. Indiana Jones & sci-fi don't mix. If he could, I bet Spielberg would have nixed the idea, but he an Lucas are contractually obligated to be partners on the Indy series, so he had to go with it.
Lucas isn't content with merely being a cog in the machine, he wants to BE the machine, the one that does everything, and to quote Yoda: "That...is why you fail."

Fuck that clown too...
Personally, I think that once a series, movie, or even story takes on the fan following of Star Wars, G.I.Joe, Transformers, or anything the like, it becomes the "property" so to speak, of the fan base. WE keep it alive with our thoughts and views... WE shell out the money to support the retail money pit that follows... WE create the blogs and sites worshiping these sagas... WE are the ones that suffer for the changes and BS flaws in the re-writes... Let the GD fans decide what THEY want to see, dont just say your taking your toys and going home because 90% of the fan base hates what your doing to your original creation that they fell in love with.
