This Barricade had a slightly unique concept to it. I used some the decals and schemes to the effect where it looks a bit like it jumped out from a Japanese Anime cartoon.
Decals were from Rob. Same guy who did the Skids decals. Top notch decals and service!

looks good. to be honest though, i don't see much customizing done to him. Looks like OOB, but with a gloss coat. It could be the dark photos (why you switched to black background, I'll never know)
Also, on the decals, you should go around them with some black paint eliminating the white from the decal's edge's.

Well, yes and no. (Wha's OOB???) The black is now as smooth as glass and it's very rich as compared to the plastic. Not a scratch on it. The windows are tinted (though I know it's not noticeable from the pics).
About the background, didn't have much of a choice (though you have a point). My web designer felt that white pics are horrible for my webby. Think you remembered the edited pics in black which he did. But i am facing some issues in that the high gloss metallics are very hard to capture in black. 7 out of 10 times, the pics look dull! :(
And yeap. I overlooked the white trimmings of the decals. Thanks for pointing it out. Will do some touch ups there!

yeah, regardless of what your web designer thinks or says, your metallic paint jobs stand out much better on a white background. it's not that your customs are necessarily "dark" it's that metallics have a dark sheen to them, and well, look how much better your pics look on white. screw what your website looks like, it's the customs on the website that are important.

I agree with FR's point. Have the web designer change the color scheme of your site if it doesn't look good with the white backgrounds. :)

Well, at the risk of me being strangled by my designer...I'd say I'll work with black and see how I can bring the best out of this. To revamp the webby just after a few months will be very tough :(
But thanks anyway.

you're going to put all your customs on the line in order to keep from being strangled by your web designer? You need to remind him, he works for you. it's his job to make your customs look their best. not the other way around.

Well, kindof. Coz he's a friend who did it for me at below market rates. For the entire flash webby and all at ard USD 1.5k. Other designers here would have quoted ard USD 3k minimum. But I don't think it looks THAT bad in black does it??? :(

You paid 1.5k for your website??? and comprimise for the designer?!?!?
I'm sorry, but he's not your friend.

excellent paint apps sabrina. i would like to see him with a white background myself.
and ur web designer, like the above said, you're the one paying him, and quite a bit, so demand what you want from him.
take control, become a female, "with balls" and stick it to em

OOOook. . Some clarification would be good. The more feedback, the better.
How much does it cost to do up a webby similar to mine in flash? I contacted a few free lance designers here in Singapore and most quoted around SGD 4000. Ard USD 2800 at prevailing rates. So his quote of SGD 2100 (USD 1500) was obviously the better deal.

No no. I think you're right. No matter what, metallics and chrome are hard to capture in a controlled environment. Can be done but ain't that easy. Easier to catch the brilliance in the sun's natural lighting. The only I initially used white was because of convenience. DIdnt look for a better set up...till now
