I wanted to check it out and take my Mother, she's a real Trekkie. Never did, I'll take your recommendations and buy her the DVD for Christmas:cool:

I've always hated everything Star Trek, until this movie. So that's gotta count for something.

I thought it was meh. I didn't have high hopes for it, and just wasn't impressed with it. The story was OK but it just had so many plot loopholes and continuity errors it was making me crazy...

Wasn't that because it was another world/alternate reality technically? Like future Spock was from where all the original Star Trek stuff took place?
Anywho, I never liked Star Trek but this movie was great.

I loved it,was never a big Trek fan until the movie.

I agree. Best movie this year. I dug Terminator Salvation too. It wasn't just terrific but it was a good start to the story of how John Beats Skynet in the future.

Man, it looked great on our big screen TV as a regular Redbox rental, I can't wait to see what it looks like in blu-ray (hopefully I'll get one for Christmas, if I can wait that long, lol).

My blu ray showed up last night from Amazon. The opening attack on the USS Kelvin is my new "home theater show-off" scene.
