dec. 2012 is just too damn far away. I'm not a big LOTR fan, but I read the hobbit when I was younger, so I'm super stoked for this,
thanks for posting man,

Can't wait. Loved the story. Disappointed that this is taking so long, but it'll be worth it.
> Thorin enters and starts singing "They're taking the hobbits to Isengard!"

I am so excited for this. I've loved the hobbit since I was little and saw the original animated movie. This looks like it's going to be epic.
I'm a HUGE LotR fan, and I am jumping out of my skin waiting for this.

Already looking forward to the ultra-extended-no-holds-barred-cherry-on-top marathon next year!

That will be brutal. Have you ever watched all 3 extended editions back to back? It's awesome.

Ha, no I haven't. We did see a marathon twice on the big screen. My g/f and I always watch the extended DVDs in December, but she's not one to stay awake for that long, despite it being her favourite movies :)

Yup. December is the time of the year to play them.
...hate it when mine falls asleep while watching movies. (sigh)

I have to admit at the risk of the onslaught, but I never read the books and I am still pretty excited to see this. I loved all the LOTR movies and Peter Jackson directing, you can't go wrong!

I never read the books before I saw the first LOTR movie either but have read them after that. Love the movies and the books.

Haven't read any of the books either. I started when TFOTR came out, but got stuck on page 80 or something....

I played the old computer game adventures first of all so nothing really made any sense at all. Though once Two Towers was out at the cinema many years later, I just had to read LoTR RoTJ. We still watch the extended editions regularly, but could never find the time to do them all back to back
And LoTR seems such an natural progression from PJs earlier work - i.e. Bad Taste, Brain Dead - anyone tried those? ;)

Bad Taste. That movie is both awesome and bad at the same time. He should remake that because the concept was really cool. Also, the last thing he did before Lord of the Rings was The Frighteners with Michael J. Fox. Cool movie too.

SUPER stoked for this one! I was disappointed when I found out they where doing the LotR without doing the Hobbit first... Sucks we have to keep waiting for this till next year, but at least they are doing it!
