First off, No Im not currently working on one, but I am wondering if any other members have considered tackling this character as I personally believe we are way overdue for a leader class version of him.
anyone? I would love to attempt this but know that I dont have the skills or talent to pull it off so Im wondering if anyone else has done it yet?

Haven't done it yet but I've thought about it. Actually, we have it all planned out, we're only missing the funds for the project. I'm hoping that I'll be able to start him after Christmas.

We did one a ways back when the first movie came out. Our skills have gotten a bit sharper since then so i'd like to redo the project but he came out alright i quess.

Was he in scale with Prime and the others?
He looks way bigger than most of the big bots in the movies.

He is aswell.... Most parts would have to be builded from scratch or model kits I guess, since I don't know a heli big enough for supplying parts for such a monster.... But I think that the gestalt technique of using an Unicron/primus waist and upeer legs would help....

the seconjd one was a little big in the chest, I think a guy named Chi did it, can't seem to find pics of it. There was also one made from TFTM leader Megatron.

Ah, I forgot about that one. I was think of the more recent one that was made from TFTM Leader Megatron. That one didn't transform.

On the one we did, we used one of those gi-joe knock off sets you can get at Toys R us. I think we paid 24.00 for the giant copter and figures. Of course the Heli didn't transform. I still remember bringing it home and telling Danielle my plan, she looked at me like I was f'n nuts. We basically cut the copter in half and gutted everything out behind the cockpit and first cargo area, and a cybertron Metroplex was used for legs and the bulk of the arms. Once I had all the parts cut out to loose shape I'd stand him up and get him looking good in robot mode- I rember doing alot of measuring and marking things off- it took about a week of just stairing at him to figure out how to aproach the transformation. In the end he had to be a bit of a parts former with the whole tail section needing to come off to get him from heli to bot mode- we used plug ins from a ML Mr Fantastic car which worked out pretty well giving the tail section a sturdy on and off. For the rest of his trasformation it ended up pretty simple- his legs folded up inside him, and his arms got rotated, folded back and pined to his side. Sadly this was not a well documented project and it's long since been sold. The process was a bit frustrating but worked well enough that I'd like to have a second go at it with our skills where they're at now. It'd be cool to do something with of those giant aircraft carriers too lol
