This is the first Star Wars figure I have been commissioned to do, and I owe it to my brother Paul (Speedleecustoms) for sending the client my way.

This ALSO marks the first time I have completely sculpted a figure, and I am rather embarrassed at how long he took me to be honest. I learned a LOT from him though, so moving on I think he will help me improve even more in sculpting work to come. All in all Im pretty happy with the way he came out, and the client couldnt be happier.

This Jango started as a Takara Microman figure, which for those of you unfamiliar with the figure is essentially a nude torso. So everything you see save for the helmet, head, belt/blasters, and the rocket pack, is all me. He comes with 6 different sets of hands, 30 points of articulation (which are only somewhat limited by the sculpt over) removable helmet, custom mounted head, and a back pack held on by rare earth magnets.

I want to say a special thanks to Sith_Fire30 too for writing his blog the way he does. I in NO way claim to be anywhere NEAR that level, but the way he shows his process is a VERY nice tool for those of us just starting with heavy sculpting work. If you havent checked out his blog yet, do so!

Now for the pics...

No, you cant! I had never actually even SEEN one till this custom, and was lucky enough to have Paul hook me up with three more, so Ill be doing a couple of other customs on these bases for ebay here as soon as my commissions are caught up...

Impressive, man, most impressive. Haven't tried full (re)sculpting myself yet, but you pulled it off really well. The symmetry and straight edges of the armour look great. Pants look a bit baggy, but hey, could be fashionable again in 2012 :D

Great work man!

Lol, yeah I noticed that too... Its because I sculpted it in stages, where I laid down a base to bring everything up or out on the base body, and then added the armor, and THEN sculpted the details and folds around that... Built up a little more than I would have liked...

Thanks for all of the love guys... Should have this Boba Fett with improved articulation done in the next day or so for the same customer...

I use a lot of Microman stuff on my TF customs. Good call on the Star Wars!
