Star Wars : blu-ray box set

I'll probably let Nicky get it for me for Christmas, we still throw them in occasionally, iKve probably watched the first 3 30+ times each. Nothing beats sparkin' one up, crackin' a 2 liter of cherry Coke and some chips, and watching some Empire.

Maybe instead of adding superfluous new elements to the films on each rerelease, they could try cutting bits out? Or get ILM to remove Hayden Christiansen from each scene and replace him with a CGI model of him with better acting ability? You know it makes $ense, George.

With what I hear, they are just upconverting the movies to Blu Ray. Isn't that the same quality you get for just watching the DVD set on an upconverting Blu Ray player? That's what my Blu Ray player does, it just upconverts the regular DVD to a better picture and sound and that seems to be what they are doing with the original trilogy which is all I really care about, fuck the prequels! Just when I didn't think it could get any worse than Jar Jark Binks, They bring in Hayden Christiansen as a bitch ass Anakin!The Animated Clone Wars version is better than that punk ass!

Nope. He made some MORE changes to the movies. One of them is Darth Vader now yells "Nooooooo" when he throws the emperor down the shaft.

I pre-ordered the set, but after the rumours about the hideous changes (especially the final scenes aboard the Death Star II) turned out to be true I was very, very disappointed and immediately cancelled my pre-order.

Replacing muppet Yoda with a CGI version in TPM is a welcome change, though. I still can't get it how they totally goofed with that muppet, when back in '80 and '83 they made one helluva puppet. But I don't care much for the prequels.

But Ewoks with blinking eyes, Ben's Krayt Dragon call (sounds more like he got his weener slammed between a door) and the overly redundant dialogue for Vader when he finally redeems himself draw the line for me. I should've drawn the line with the SE, because changing Boba's voice is another change I can't stomach.

And the weird thing is, simple things as flipped scenes (Boba's antenna being on the right instead of the left, for instance) remain unchanged!

I'm sure the 9th disc with all the extras is great and all, but I've got ways of getting that without shelling out $140 (yes, that's what the set costs in Holland).

I'll get me a copy of AdyWan's fan edits, I've read their absolutely fantastic.

I think im going to get it. SW ON Blu ray. I still have my unblemished versions so im ok with buying it again. I will not purchase blu ray 3d which is inevitable. If lucas wants more of my money for movies he'd better just put out a boxed set of extra crap.

You know, I do like some changes, the Wampa Attack for instance, but he's going fucking nuts. Ruining his legacy and now he seems like one of those people in Hollywood who keep getting botox and think they look GOOD!

i'd get the set if they were the original three, with some digital clean up done on them, with none of the "improved/altered/completely retarded" additions and alterations. the list of changes are fucking dumb.

When news of the SEs came out, I was quite hopeful. Something that had always bothered me were the bluescreen boxes around the TIE fighters in TESB, or the see-through canopies of the Snowspeeders. If they'd fix that and other "cosmetic" details I'd be a happy camper. But indeed, The Flaneled One seems to have lost touch with reality completely....

If it werent for that change to the end of ROTJ I would but I just can't stomach watching that. I agree with you guys above, if Lucas wants to fuck shit up fine, but AT LEAST include an Un Raped original version of the films as well.

Lucas wouldn't include the original versions with this release because he wouldn't want people seeing how much shit he's changed and how much worse it is than the original version. If it ain't broke, don't fix it! Leave the customizing to the pros!

That's what pisses me off. He goes out of his way to make pointless changes but won't fix little things like that. Adding Hayden at the end if Jedi is what killed it to me. But what made me get the DVD's was having the originals that came with it. Then it made me get the prequels on DVD too. So I already have my "Complete Saga" (BULLSHIT! Where's EP 7, 8, and 9?)

I cancelled my preorder too. SOMEDAY Lucas will kick the bucket, somebody with some sense will take over Lucasfilm, and they'll answer the fans' calls to release the ORIGINAL movies, completely untouched. Until then, fuck em.
