At LONG last I am extremely proud and excited to present my form of the Constructicons and Devastator. Obvisously this is a project based on the Ptitvite / Frenzy_Rumble model with a few tweaks to make it my own. This set of figures is my first custom project and was a great way to learn and gain confidence to go off and do something unique next time around.

Thanks go to Mike (Frenzy_Rumble) for not only his gift to the community but his willingness to help newcomers to the craft. Also thanks go to Sculpt-Bot for his casted Devastator heads (both of which can be seen below).

Every other day I will show a new Constructicon all leading up to Devastator himself. (Bare with me as I am shooting the figures and prepping them for display here.)

Since I am new to all this, please let me know what you guys think!

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Finally, last up is the King of Destruction himself, DEVASTATOR!

Let's end this...

I hope you have enjoyed my work and presentation of the Constructicons and Devastator. Thanks to everyone for the great comments and thoughts! Now, what gestalt should be next? ;-)

AWESOME! The green is perfect. I actually like the lack of purple for this custom. The metallics make him look very heavy. I like the pic right after the dinobots. He looks like, "ok, now what?"

Both head look great!

That has been worth the wait. That is just spectacular. Some day when I get brave, I might try something like that.

Astonishing work !!! Very nice !!! Although i would say it lacks purple, and the details on the green areas have been neglected, i understand it's a huge project... But it could make something that good into something better !!! Great work nevertheless !!! :D

It is kinda hard to see in the pictures but he actually has tones of purple. I just muted the purple and added tones of gunmetal. I didn't want a circus Devy so I kept the purple to a minimum.. just enough to pay homage to the G1 color scheme yet keep the Constructicons looking believable as vehicles. :D

I also wanted a clean paint app so I didn't go crazy on the detailing on all the green areas. Just enough to give it a little play. So many folks have gone the way of a dirty distressed look for Devastator, I wanted a true G1 style with no weathering. I added little scrapes and scratches to his metallic areas to give it a little character however. I couldn't resist some weathering...

Thanks guys for the compliments as well. It means a lot to me hearing what you think about this.

Thanks Froggy. Yea it was my first custom. Took me about 6 months though. I am not as quick as everyone here. But since I don't do this for a job I took the luxury of taking my time to make sure I got it right. :D
