Got a couple of these for myself, and after a recent commission that I finished, I was inspired to paint these. I went with the G1 toy color scheme, trying to match as close as possible. These were also influenced by F_R and Solrac333's drybrushing techniques, as they are completely drybrushed from head to toe. Its still a method that I'm playing around with, I dont think I do it quite as good as they do.

Both were completely dismantled, base coated in Krylon Ultra Flat Black, then drybrushed with Testors enamels. I coated them in Krylon Matte Clear for protection. The little micro faction symbols were provided by Boggs6ft7, and they're friggin tiny!

You copy my style? :) Sweet! These look great! I wish the price weren't so high for these. They would look great with my Soundwave.

Pics are a little dark but I like dark. :)

Thanks guys! Yeah, I'm still working on a way to difuse a 3rd light, provided by Zildjian, so that I can get a little bit better lighting. There's a lot of details that arent showing up that I think that will fix, plus my camera's settings got set back to default, so I gotta find the right combo again. I'm keeping these, so I'll toy around with it til I find the settings I had before and take some better pics.

Does your camera have a macro function? Also you're not using a flash right, that'll mess up macro mode sometimes.:D

Yup, I always use it, its the one setting I cant get to stay locked so I have to turn it on everytime I power up. This time, I adjusted the lighting so it would be brighter without a glare, changed from normal to high color, and from 7.3mp to 8.0. Shutter speed and exposure all standard, white balance on tungsten (only setting that doesnt make them a hazy yellowish.) My tripod is usually what makes em blurry, the telescoping feature makes it drop slightly when I hit the button. Had to adjust it all the way down, and set up the light box about a foot off the floor. Flash is always off.

Does your camera have a timer or remote button for self portraits? that may cure the "limp tripod" dilemma.

It does, but I havent gotten it to work successfully, for some reason it doesnt seem to want to function with the auto-focus when I tried it. I pretty much have to treat it like my .45, squeeze the trigger not pull it.
