View Full Version : Darth Krayt re-do...

I never read the stories with Darth Krayt in them, but there is no doubt that he sure looks the part of the evil villain. First, I made him slightly taller by switching his crotch piece with the good jedi version of Galen Marek. The piece brings his thighs in tighter and raises the skirt a little more as well which overall looked more in scale to me. The images I have seen of him show his armor looking to me more like a bone type of material, not the chrome silver Hasbro painted this guy originally. I went back and gave him a ghost grey base coat, then multiple washes of a mix of shadow grey and black over his armor. I then drybrushed skull white over the armor to finally achieve the look I wanted and added the rest of his facial tatoos. Hasbro has a terrible time it seems getting red lightsabers to actually look red, so I drybrushed a light coating of blood red over the blade. I really like the look of this figure and wanted better bring out all the details of the mold. I may re-visit this again at some point and try to add ankle articulation
but may wait until I can find another one before I try that. Thanks for taking a look!

Looks good, much better than Hasbro's attempt. I've been wanting to re-paint and upgrade mine, just haven't found the time to do it yet.

Damn! I've been wanting to do the same with mine. What kind of armor is that supposed to be? Since I don't know the story, I'm not sure how to paint him.

That looks amazing. I just passed up a comic pack the other day, might have to go back and get it now that I know it can look this good.

Excellent! I like the color choice for the armor, much more accurate to the (couple) comics I've read with him in it. Well done.:D
