remember him? know him?
this was, for me back then, one of my favorite characters when Image Comics ruled the comic industry. A very classic all black with white stripes look which worked then and still works very well today. plain colors and yet with attitude! Backlash has a psy-whip, pretty much like X-men Psylocke's Psy-blade. He can also turn into smoke..... i didnt take pictures of that anymore...
you can check all the pictures here

What Transformers figure is he? Just kidding. Not familiar with him but he looks great. Cool poses.

Unkown to me as well, but very good paint apps and cool poses. The tentacle thingies appear to be too thick, compared to the reference pic. Starwarsgeek made a very cool Carnage some time ago, using pieces of wire covered in liquid plastic to make his tendrils. Could work very well for Backlash too I think :)

Not really an Image fan, and have no idea who this character is, but he looks good. Very clean, straight lines, which all of us know are difficult to accomplish.

Those tentacles look a little......ummmmmmm, well, "marital aid-ish"
They def. are too big. Great paint job on the figure though. Might want to try and find something thinner for the whips??

I think its about time he scampered off and found some Japanese school girls to molest.
WHIPS: help? suggestions?

I'd suggest just the twist ties that toys come packaged in. Try to find some thicker ones, and paint them up. Maybe cover them in hot glue, which will leave them still bendy, but like they have energy flowing on them. Check out the tutorials section here, I'm not sure which page its on, but theres a great one for energy stuff. I think the titles is "making fireblasts" or something like that.

I think TD is referring to Lumiya and her lightwhip:

The only problem with that is it's not very sturdy, and very flimsy.
You would be better off taking thin pieces of wire and covering them with thin layers of hot glue, or as Incom stated do what I did for my Carnage and cover the wire with Plasti-Dip. Both techniques will allow you to keep the pieces movable while making them sturdy enough to stand on their own.
very useful tip! thanks guys!!! its nice to know everybody here helps each other out

Very cool, although I think barbed wire would have looked better that the tentacles. They look a bit like earth worms.

Very nice. Not too fond of the whips, though. They kinda resemble worms... or tentacles. Not to put a knock on this custom, though. I for the life of me can't imagine what to use to make 'psy-whips'.
