Guys let me know what you think, if it works, and any other input.
I posted this in Custom Showcase because that's pretty much a big part of what the website is. A quick and easy way to see a LOT of my work.

I hope it is simple enough to navigate and will do the job a customizer's site is supposed to do.

Well my problem is that the address I would have to put on my business card or send online (to go to what I call the front page) is too long and stupid. I so wish It was simply Unicron9.com or something. Maybe I can buy a domain name for it though.
Also I hoped to have the Unicron theme song played at the beginning with maybe a short animation of Unicron approaching and the planet mouth opening, then light filling the screen to introduce the site. Something I don't think is possible with this but hey, its free and I suppose it will do the job.

Go to a site like godaddy.com or my favorite web host, www.angelfire.com and see if that domain name/web address is available to buy.

With blogger, you can really customize the hell out of it. there are good online resources for that too.

How do I get people to actually KNOW about it though. Add it to my auctions maybe?
Also, you say it's very customizable? So maybe I can get my graphic artist buddy to put a song on it and a short flash intro?

I'd stay away from flash intros, unless it's in a banner. Sometimes people click away quickly when they see "loading" in flash....If you go w/ flash, it needs to be structured well so that it instantly loads, which is rarely the case.

For starters, you can buy a domain name for like $7 a year...have a web person point that to your blogger until you get a full private site. Something easier to remember. I wouldn't remember your URL/site name if we met on the street, but I would remember unicron9.com or something like that. Then, plug the heck out of your site. put it on auctions, forums, etc.

Thanks Mike! You're right about the flash into too. I'll look into getting a domain name.

I think so but I'm not sure. I haven't messed with it enough yet.
I added the Unicron theme song though and will buy a good domain name soon if possible.

i used to be a web designer a few years back... here's my 2cents... background music is tricky if not compressed correctly... theres a very fine line in balancing audio quality and size... of course you want it to sound good but you dont want your visitors connection to slow down because of it... for this reason i would stay away from any kind of music or intro animation - only because it prolongs the visitor from ultimately reaching your content... thats the reason they're there anyways, not to view your intro...

i may not know too much about kit bashing, sculpting and painting... but i do know a little something about the web... :P

Yeah so I'm just going to skip trying to add any intro animation. I've gone to websites and left immediately myself when I saw "Loading".
I already added music and it doesn't seem to slow anything down. :D

I don't think I can get a domain name for my Blogger.com site since its free though. :(
