ROTF Sideswipe

Here is my third ROTF autobot custom - Sideswipe!

Sideswipe was painted with the same platinum automotive paint as my TFTM Jazz. I know, the metallic flakes look too big and the paintjob looks rough and textured in pics, but I just love the color. It looks much better in real life where you don't really notice the large metallic flakes. :) I modded the feet by removing the car fenders and epoxying them back to the car hood. This made them more accurate to the CG model which stood only on its wheels. I also added real springs to the suspension thingies on the back of his legs. Comments and critiques are very much welcome.

I like that paint, it kinda looks like brushed nickle in the pics.

Thanks man. It was pretty expensive compared to the local branded spraycans I usually get but very much worth it. :)

I like it. I see you had the same problem with the apoxy that I did. When I filled in those gaps in the hood, they tended to crack pretty easy. Oh, well. Looks good to me. How did you solve the rubbing issues this guy has?

Yeah, but I admittedly did a lousy sanding job after filling in the gaps. I don't recall running into any rubbing problems aside from the surfaces between the three main rear car body pieces. I just sanded those down. :)

The only thing that would make this any better, would be a GI JOE standing next to him!:D Seriously though I dig the paint job, especially in vehicle mode, just looks sic!

LOL are they even in scale? I'd imagine that the HA Sideswipe would work better. :)

Salamat. :) I used 'burning platinum' colored automotive paint from a (Spanish, I think) brand called DoIt. You should be able to find it at Ace Hardware (at least, in the Philippines) :)
