Some of you may know, but I am also a bit of a dinosaur nut. I do a lot of custom paleo-sculpture (a new resin kit is in the works!) and I love painting them up.
This guy is a modified Jurassic Park Dilophosaurus vinyl kit. I shortened the neck, and removed the frill to be more accurate. I also added a little bit of sculpting to the neck, arms and feet to make him look slightly bulkier. He is hand painted with acrylics and inks. Will be auctioning him off starting Saturday.
Hope you like him!

HOLY COW! That's awesome. The paintjob on the skin/scales across the midsection with the stipes and alternating colors is amazing! How long is he from nose to tail tip?

Have you done any others you can share pics of?

And have you ever considered making a small base with some green leafy bushes or trees or something along those lines?

There is a thread in the pro-section G.D. "Share your other art" that shows some of them. They are all pics of older commissions that I didn't take multiple pics of, but I may just show off the single pics that I have in one thread. A base is being done right now, and will be included in the auction.

Thanks guys! I am glad you like him. I wshould have a few more dinos coming up before I can show off my newest "from scratch" sculpture.
It's nice to just do some build, and paint-ups every now and then. No months of modding for these guys!

I updated first post to show the base/dio that i made for this guy. It is a re-purposed base from the Tamiya Triceratops kit. I dressed it up with a little fine sand, fake bushes, and did an epoxy over clear plexi pond. The pond actually has little model fish in it, and a big amphibian laying on the bottom. Let me know what you think!

Holy Dilophosaurus! This is so life like and well detailed. You are a fantastic painter man, all the different colors and details are crazy and make him so lifelike.

I'm scared of it....:p
